George Shields celebrates his 60th
year as a member in good standing of the Barbershop Harmony Society and his 60th year as a founding member of the East York
Barbershoppers. On behalf of all your friends and family at East York and Barbershop circles in Canada, USA and
around the world, our most sincere congratuations on this remarkable achievement!
Prior to hitting this incredible 60 year milestone, on December 29 1986, George Shields received
the Order of Canada, the country's highest civilian honour. The Order of Canada is the
centerpiece of Canada's honour system and recognizes a lifetime of outstanding achievement, dedication to the community and
service to the nation. George created the Harmonize For Speech Fund which supports the
Speech Foundation of Ontario with funds raised by Barbershop Chapters throughout the Province.
