The East York Barbershoppers meet pretty much every Tuesday night of the year, and we always enjoy having guests drop by to see what we are all about. The key things you need to know about coming out to Visit Us are covered in our Frequently Asked Questions section (just click on FAQ in the sidebar on the right).
It would be great to know in advance that you are coming so we can keep an eye out for you. Our VP Chapter Development (Greg Shields) can be reached at (647) 204 0220 or by sending an e-mail to info@eybs.ca, but if you would prefer to just show up we are fine with that too. Just introduce yourself as a guest to the first "East Yorker" you meet when you arrive at Harmony Hall, and they will make sure you are well taken care of!
We provide guests with a binder on arrival that includes sheet music for all the songs we plan to review that night, so they can follow along with the words (and the music if they happen to read music - although most guests, and in fact most members, do not).
Guests are welcome to participate at their own pace. Some prefer to watch the practice from the seats provided for that purpose, while others enjoy getting right up onto the risers and seeing how everything sounds from the middle of the action. If you already happen know which of the four voice parts (see About Barbershop) you want to try out then great, otherwise our skilled Music Team can help you figure out which voice part would likely be most comfortable for you.
