Each year at the Spring Convention the Ontario District of the Barbershop Harmony Society inducts a few new members into the prestigous ranks of Barbershoppers of Renown, to recognize "outstanding contributions at both the Chapter and District levels". This year East York was thrilled to see Chapter President Greg Shields be one of three Ontario Barbershoppers to receive this honour.
Everyone in East York knows how hard Greg has worked over his 20+ years with the Chapter to ensure the success of barbershopping in general, and EYBS in particular, so it was great to see his efforts recognized by the Ontario District. Greg becomes the 31'st East Yorker to be named a Barbershopper of Renown, an award that dates back to 1973 (when Greg's father, George Shields, was in the first ever group of inductees).
