If you missed the Ontario District Spring Convention this past weekend in Toronto, then you missed a great weekend of barbershop singing. Four quartets won the right to go to the International Competition in Las Vegas this summer, two in the Collegiate Contest (Shoptimus Prime and Yonge Guns) and two in the main Contest (Test Drive and Supertonic). They join the Harbourtown Sound chorus from Hamilton, who won the right last Fall to compete in Vegas.
Other winners on the weekend included Acapella Unplugged (Senior Quartet Champs), Simcoe Gentlement of Harmony (District Chorus Championship), and East York's own Replacement Parts (Novice Quartet Champions). Contratulations to everyone who competed this weekend, and to all those who are heading to Las Vegas!
Of course there was more to the weekend than competing. Catching up with old friends, making new ones, ringing tags in hallways and catching quartets in hospitality rooms are just some of the things that make the whole Convention a don't miss event.
